California Psychics review: polished and pricey, read the offer before you call
California Psychics publishes a clear rate band, a large-sounding new-customer offer and a bold satisfaction line. The trade-off is that the detailed guarantee terms and payment methods were not published on the pages we read, so set a short limit before you start.

What a reading costs
California Psychics publishes a rate range rather than a live chart in the material we read: $5 to $23 per minute. Reader prices can still vary inside that band, so check the profile before connecting.
| Rule | What it says | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Published range | “Our psychics prices range from $5 to $23 per minute.” pricing | A long call can get expensive quickly at the upper end. |
| New customer start | The pricing page says you can get started from as little as $25; the about page says from $20. pricing | There is a small inconsistency across pages, so trust the checkout amount you see. |
| Offer structure | Up to 20 minutes total, with a 5-minute purchase required. pricing | Treat the headline as a package rule, not unlimited free time. |
| Bad reading | “If it’s not life changing, it’s free.” pricing | The detailed guarantee terms were not published on the pages we read. |
| Payment methods | Not published on the pages we read. pricing | Do not assume a method until you reach checkout. |
Billing is per minute inside the $5–$23 range. The intro offer may reduce the first session’s out-of-pocket cost, but it still depends on the package rules and the reader you choose.
The “15 MINUTES FREE” offer
The headline is easy to see. The package rules are what matter before you connect.
California Psychics shows a “15 MINUTES FREE” button on the home page. The pricing notes we read describe an introductory offer for new customers: from $25 on the pricing page, from $20 on the about page, up to 20 minutes total, and a required 5-minute purchase.
The practical point is simple: before you call, open the reader profile and the checkout screen, then confirm what you are buying and when the free portion applies.

Your first session, step by step
The safe order is to verify the price first, then keep the first call short. These are the points where money or expectations move.
- Create an account
Use the account flow on the site or app before you choose a reader.
Account first - Choose a format
The published formats are phone, chat and text messaging.
Phone, chat or text - Check the reader’s rate
The site’s published band is $5–$23 a minute. Do not start until you know where your reader sits.
Rate shown first - Review the intro package
The new-customer offer starts from $25 on the pricing page and requires a 5-minute purchase.
You pay first - Ask one question
Keep the first session narrow. A broad life reading makes it harder to judge whether the reader is useful.
Limit the scope - If it misses, contact support
The pricing page says, “if it’s not life changing, it’s free,” but the detailed terms were not published on the pages we read.

What works, and what to watch
California Psychics is clearer than many sites on price range and screening. It is less clear on the fine print behind the guarantee and payment flow.
What works
- The rate band is published plainly: $5–$23 per minute.
- The site says it rejects 98 of every 100 psychic applicants.
- Phone, chat and text messaging cover the main live-reading preferences.
- Karma Rewards gives returning customers points toward free readings.
- Trustpilot shows a 4.1 score from 3,873 reviews.
What to watch
- The intro offer is described differently across pages: from $25 on pricing and from $20 on about.
- The offer has conditions: up to 20 minutes total and a 5-minute purchase required.
- The guarantee slogan is broad, but the detailed guarantee terms were not published on the pages we read.
- Payment methods were not published on the pages we read.
- BBB lists no rating, not accredited, with 22 complaints over 3 years and 5 closed in 12 months.
How California Psychics says it vets readers
The platform publishes a selectivity claim, not a full hiring manual. We could not verify the screening from the outside.
- Stage oneApplication
Readers apply to work with the platform.
- Stage twoHigh rejection rate
California Psychics says it rejects 98 out of every 100 applicants.
- Stage threeReader profile
Approved readers appear to customers with their chosen formats and rates.
- ThenCustomer choice
You still choose the reader, topic and session length.
“Out of every 100 psychics who apply to work with us, we reject 98.”
Who it suits
California Psychics suits someone who wants a long-running phone or chat brand and is comfortable checking the offer fine print themselves.
A good fit if you
- want phone, chat or text messaging rather than video;
- like the idea of a platform that says it rejects 98 of 100 applicants;
- expect to return and may use Karma Rewards points.
Look elsewhere if you
- want payment methods listed before checkout;
- want detailed guarantee terms published next to the slogan;
- want lower per-minute experiments than the published $5 starting rate.

What customers say, and where
Outside ratings are mixed but substantial. The main caution is to separate app usability and service recovery from any claim about accuracy.
- California Psychics pays for a Trustpilot subscription and invites its own customers to review.
- It replied to 99% of negative reviews.
- The company claimed the profile in February 2015.
What the one- and two-star reviews repeat
- A Trustpilot summary described a weak tarot reading and suspicion that reviews on the site were filtered.

Questions people ask about California Psychics
The questions behind common US searches for the brand, answered from the same dated sources as the rest of this page.
Is California Psychics legit?
It is an operated platform: Outlook Amusements, Inc. is named on the pricing page, the brand says it started in 1995, Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 3,873 reviews, and BBB has a public profile. Legit is not the same as accurate; treat any reading as guidance, not proof.
Is there a California Psychics promo code?
The pages we read did not publish a promo code. They did publish a new-customer offer: the home page button says “15 MINUTES FREE,” while the pricing page says new customers can start from $25.
How much does California Psychics cost?
The pricing page says psychics range from $5 to $23 per minute. Your actual cost depends on the reader’s rate and how long you stay connected.
What is the California Psychics phone number?
The home page screenshot we captured shows 1.800.783.7573. Check the current site before calling, because phone prompts can change.

Is California Psychics a scam?

Which California Psychics reader should I choose?
The platform does not publish a single reader ranking on the pages we read. It does say it rejects 98 of every 100 applicants, but you still need to choose by topic, format, rate and how the reader explains their approach.
Does California Psychics have no-tools readers?
The pages we read list formats, not a complete tool taxonomy. If “no tools” matters to you, check individual reader profiles before paying.
How we checked
This section shows what we read, what we did not test and how this page is funded.
We read California Psychics’ pricing, about, Karma Rewards and app-store pages, checked Trustpilot and BBB, and captured the home and pricing pages on October 8, 2026 after reading the source pages on October 7, 2026. We did not pay for test sessions. Prices and offers change; if a current checkout screen differs, the live checkout is the number to use.
How this page is paid for
California Psychics does not pay us. Keen is a partner and may pay us if you use the Keen button and later make a purchase; Keen’s published starter offer is $1 for the first 5 minutes with some readers.
